Updated COVID-19 Protocol

Touch Therapeutic Massage is reopening on Saturday, June, 6th. Hours will be limited at first, as I am only using each treatment room once daily, to minimize client’s exposure to others.

To ensure our safe return to Touch Therapeutic Massage, I would like to share the increased protocol I am implementing as recommended by the CDC, Health Department, and Massage Associations. My first priority is the health and wellbeing of my clients and community.

Pre- appointment:

  • We will conduct a health phone screen 24 hours before appointment to ensure you have not experience any COVID symptoms, or been exposed within the last 14 days

What to expect when you arrive:

  • Restricted use of reception area; only 1 client will be permitted to enter the office at any one time, and no earlier than 10 minutes before their scheduled appointment.
  • Upon arriving, masks will be mandatory for staff and clients, so please arrive wearing one. If you do not have one, you may purchase one on arrival.
  • You will be asked to: clean hands with sanitizer; receive a temperature check; and remove your shoes. Please bring socks if you feel more comfortable.
  • Complete a health intake form and an additional COVID health waiver

At time of treatment:

  • After your initial screening, you will be taken you to your treatment room where your therapist will discuss your goals for treatment, and treatment plan.
  • Mask will be required to be worn throughout your treatment.
  • Only use the hooks behind the door to hang up clothes.

Additional Reminders:

  • Do not bring anyone else to your appointment with you.
  • Please do not bring additional items, such as purses, with you

Our Updated Office Protocol:

  • Between each appointment, we will:
  • Clean and sanitize all entry/ common areas as per CDC, Loudoun Health Dept and VDH requirements and guidelines.
  • Disinfect all touchable surfaces in each treatment room: handles, light switches and controls, surfaces, tables, face cradles, stools, towel warmers and equipment.
  • A UV-C light handheld wand will be used over anything which cannot be wiped, i.e. upholstered furniture, wall hangings, lights, plants, credit card processing machine, laptops, forms, and phones.
  • A plastic mat has been added under each face cradle, which can be wiped down and cleaned in between appointments. 

Additional Measures:

  • Free standing air purifying units (Germ Guardian Air Purifying Systems) with UV-C have been added to each treatment room and reception area
  • Hand sanitizer is available in each treatment room
  • Floors/rugs are vacuumed and mopped with EPA recommended cleaners
  • There will be an additional mat added to each massage table between the table warmer and sheets, which can be disinfected between each appointment. All sheets and blankets will be removed after each appointment.  
  • Increased time between appointments has been added to allow for proper and increased cleaning protocols with limited daily appointments.
  • Each treatment room will only be used once daily, so no two clients will be in the same room in a single day.
